Large chunks of resin, sourced from a local surfboard shaper, are cut into small blanks, which are then put on the lathe and turned into bangles, hoops, beads, and more. UWF Sumo Robot team will be attending the National Robotics Challenge (NRC) and participating in the Sumo Robot competition at the NRC. The Sumo Robot Contest requires a student team to build a self-propelled, autonomous, sensing robot, designed to force another Sumo Robot outside a ring. The competition ring will be a square painted flat black, measuring 8’ across. When any part of the robot crosses completely over the white outer ring while being pushed by the opposing robot, it will lose the match. All Sumo Robot matches will be best of three.
