John Barksdale

John Barksdale Mr. Barksdale has been the University of West Florida’s Skylab Technology Manager since the inception of this state-of-the-art computer lab in 2010. John has been working in higher education for twelve years while also taking on freelance projects that involve technology and training. His experience in this realm includes managing computer labs, teaching computer software courses and assisting faculty, students and staff members with computer and other technology issues. As an instructor at National University and Pensacola State College, he was responsible for the development and deployment of instructional materials for software in-service training sessions and technology courses. John is a graduate of the Instructional Technology Master of Arts program at Virginia Tech. John could foresee the value of 3D modeling in education and proposed the early adaption of 3D printers in the Skylab computer lab. The first 3D printer was installed in Skylab in February of 2014.
